Cool, Joe. I guess it's time to start a list of inanely self righteous statements by right wing wackos who just can't handle public breast feeding.

There are a lot of men who find lactating erotic so I agree with you while it is natural it should be done in private if only for the sanctity of the mother lest she become a target. They are many ways to breast feed privately and discreetly even in public.

I think it is hilarious that anthropological finding that because a Swedish woman breast feeds for several years it is therefore correct practice. An infant does not need breast milk for very long after it ingests the initial colostrum. Depending on the health of the mother a balanced formula might actually be better soon after ingestion of colostrum.

On the topic of public breast feeding, why do so many people condone it while condemning public urination? Both are acts of good health where the primary objection is the exposure of private parts. Message 15769486

No, we ought to pass laws enjoining discretion...They ought not to be allowed to breast feed in a common dining area, for example... Message 11121494

There oughta be a law. You and e-Bill are just trying to make Neocon sound sensible by comparison, right?

It is interesting, as you say, that Sweden should automatically provide the standard. I also have read that the crucial period is the first couple of months, and that once the colostrum is ingested, the principal healthful effects are ensured. But the thing that I found interesting in the initial discussion was resistance to the idea that any accommodation was desirable. I was accused of being a pervert, neurotic, I don't know what, although the sight does not particularly bother me, the idea had to do with public decorum in restaurants, and sensitivity to disturbing some people at their supper. Things my wife used to do, like express milk for bottle feeding, were dismissed out of hand......
