In addition, I found the first sentence in this excerpt from an article on Dell in today's WSJ interesting. Reducing manufacturing capacity when only a small percentage of the world has PC's??? Okay D.J., fire away <ggg>...

Regards,
John

The company also plans to reduce its manufacturing capacity. As part of the cost cutting, it will shift its Austin portable-PC assembly operations to an existing factory in Tennessee. Dell also said it would merge several business units, such as a small-and-medium-business-sales and corporate-sales organizations into a single group.

"We built our organization for a market growing at 15% to 18% [annually]," Dell spokesman T.R. Reid said. "It's clearly not doing that. We're not in a position to forecast a date for recovery."
