There's no reason at all not to have netscape around as a backup. It was my experience that 4.76 was the most stable of the netscape versions. mr.mark or someone else can probably help you there.

I recently upgraded to Communicator 4.77 and it has been working fine for me. I use it as my regular browser and email handler. I am on a Dell 4100 P3 with W2000 OS.
