That would be the kohlrabi. That might be a good bet, shorting the kohlrabi, because I don't think the roots have touched bottom yet.

I don't think there's been enough discussion of the Gongylodes group on this thread.

It is true that a lot of stocks -- especially those mentioned on this thread, such as MWBX -- look like a root vegetables these days. Maybe GE needs some Miracle Grow. I often think the easiest way to make money would be to avoid every single stock that anyone recommends.

I would caution people not to short the giant okra.

Hi Monty; I got an early start this year.
Already have tomatoes some real big ones too..
bell peppers are making ( some ) and pole beans are making
plenty. Cucumbers are also doing good.
Dug my new potatoes , and planted lima beans in their place,
My 1st Corn has small ears on it ( be about 10 more days )
I have two stands of corn ( a month apart ).
Squash is making so much I'm having to freeze some already.
Kohlrabi is almost gone ( crazy little alien looking plants.)
I just put out some more ( but I'm not sure it will make in warm weather )
It might as it is fast( 60 days)
Still getting beets ( did you know the tops of beets ( the greens ) are really good ? )
& taste just like spin age, in fact I doubt I ever grow spin age again as the beat
tops do for that.
Okra is starting to make, and I'm giving away what I froze last fall to make room
in my freezer.
In spite of my hip I get about two to three hours a day in the garden on most days.
I just have to be careful of how I step and bend over.
-----------------------------
Well yesterday I said to myself that after Csco reported they would sell into
the rally..but I was too involved with other stuff to short but almost did on the
close .
Sure enough she is dropping this morning.
---------------------
I'm dam near all cash and looking for UOPIX to drop to 10 before
I test the water , I bought her last time at 7.62 and dumped out at
12.41 however I had some a bunch at 15 that I took a loss on.
I still haven't been aggressive enough with my shorts , but
the guy who did my taxes was impressed at how I did last year,
and told me most of his clients really took a bath.
---------------------
They think the tax breaks will stimulate things but when they reduce
cap gains it lets "old money" get out of the market.
I have never seen a cap gains cut that didn't create a sell off.
Wall St don't care as long as they get volume.
==============
The talking heads on CNBC have called a bottom.( again )
we'll see. They yak about the volume..but if you look
at the dollars traded on the Naz it's not that good..as
prices have fell so low.
And why would the Naz go public now if they think the market
is going up..shit they want out before it goes all to hell.
I'v got three long positions and I locked em all off with puts
on the last rally.
All I'm about to play from here out is the UOPIX/USPIX and them short term.
( with a short or long hedge mid-day to capture what I think is a mid-day
low or high ) however with my hip problems I've lost a lot of interest and
I'm not trading near as often as I was, my little garden means more to me
than the stock market.
I have found the Naz volume data.
marketdata.nasdaq.com
and I'm looking it over in a variety of ways.
