Hi Skeet,

One of my favorite stocks for years now has been KVHI. They have developed new technology that exceed the current technologies physical limitation of modulation speed.

Currently 40 megahertz modulators are the physical limit and very expensive to build ( very low yield rates on planar chips). Their new technology utilizes polymeric electro optic modulators and will cost a fraction of the old technology have much less loss require much less electrical power and be able to go up to 100 megahertz.

This all adds up to each laser using 80 modulators cramming 2 1/2 to 10 times as much data thru the same optic cable.

In an unfair extreme that means 800 times as much data as what went thru a dark cable of 5 years ago. Bandwidth yields will propel unbelievable amounts of data thru fiber optic cable.

Even with tech improvements I think the demand FOR MORE CABLE WILL ACCELERATE.

Once the last mile can be fiber we will all have data parties at the house. Then maybe the computer makers will sell more upgrades. Right now the slowest link is the transmission medium and it very slow buildout. JMHO

Didn't mean to spam the stock but it sounds like you are into the sector.
