4:11pm 05/08/01 [NSM] NAT'L SEMICONDUCTOR SEES Q4 SALES DOWN 16-18% FROM Q3

As recently as March 8th NSM only expected a 5-10% decline in revenues from Q3, so things are 2-3 times as bad as expected 2 months ago and layoffs are required in the hope that they MAY get better. I guess things can't get any worse -g-
