with respect to RMBS and printed circuits. They require 28ohm +/-8% impedence values on their boards to due the frequencies they are running. This drives the cost up over tradition memory which run 50ohm +/-10%, also requires a much tigher process which limits who can manufacture.

Also, Rambus technology requires a test of the actual PCB, not a process coupon that many use, like your bother at Litton.

PCB substrate is far behind silicon, some esitmate 11-13 years we relearn what the semi industry already figured out. In the PCB industry we are seeing more and more high speed requirements. The company I work for make testers specifically to test Rambus impedence specifications, they can also be used for any PCB substrate.
