It's said that those who enjoy sausage and obey laws should never watch either being made.

I feel the same way about the Bible -- those who believe in it literally should never study the way it came to be the way it is.

Lots of bickering. Lots of arguing -- should this book go in, this one go out. Horsetrading.

Personally, I'm more interested in the living word of Christ than in what was written down, maybe, 1800 or so years ago by people with a definite agenda that mayor may not have been Christ's. The Bible literalists basically have to say that God was in almost constant communication with manking until the death of Christ, and not since. I reject that.

Just a matter of approach. And personal experience.
