Interesting point, which I'm sure is lost on those on this thread that believe Cisco is going out of business. But the fact remains that people who haven't experienced broadband, have no clue what the Internet will be one day. They are thinking small. To them the Internet is about making a few posts on a stock thread.

They don't realize that in less than a decade, they'll have one window open making a post about how Cisco stock sux and at $80 a share Cisco is overvalued and will be out of business soon, while in another window, they'll have fullscreen, realtime, streaming video. Then in another window, they'll have a videophone open so they can call their mom and talk to them full duplex from their computer, while seeing her image as she shows them the new cake she's baked, and at the same time, they are flipping through a shared photo album of their kids so that Grandma can see how they've grown, and oh here's a quick video snippet, Grandma, what do you think of that? In the mean time, their sons are playing the latest in massively multiplayer realtime gaming with several of their best buds in China, India, and Japan, while their daughter is holding a nonstop videophone-a-thon with all her boyfriends, and mom is watching cabletelevision over the same pipe that all these other needs are being taken care of through. etc, etc.

In the mean time, you and I will be much richer and happier that we continued to invest in Cisco despite herd mentality, which was wrong in 1996 and was wrong again in 2001. In 2005, we'll look back and ask, "Where's Bambs, Mucho Maas, and John Shannon? Where's NewYorkCityBoy? They sure are scarce on this thread now." But I guess they'll be back at the next downturn, claiming they were always right. They sure won't have lost any money, because they had it in a safe place, either right under their mattress or earning a whopping 4% in a money market or savings account. Yep. They were right alright. :)

Perhaps you should check out India's percentage of the world's gross domestic product. Last time I checked it was around 2%. Man those Indians are going to buy a s***load of CSCO's product, especially in light of the fact that their entire culture is opposed to growth and modernization western style.
