Thank you for the story. I enjoyed it. I interpret it to be supportive of a naturalistic origin story. It exposes the weakness of the "argument from incredulity" so often put forth against evolution... "I can't understand how mere chance could produce all this!" or "Such and such a feature is irreducibly complex and could not have come about by incremental change." Whether these arguments are motivated by plain stubborness or a failure of the imagination, it does not change the fact that the butterfly does indeed come out of the cocoon! Resorting to a Deity as an explanation for such phenomena is overkill on the order of using an H-Bomb to kill a roach.
