Scumbria

I am hearing on the news some comments from Clinton that GWB is a skilled politician, good at building coalitions and not to be taken lightly. Clinton is in the UK and the comments I heard were radio news and don't show up on the net.

Using the phrase "shoving their agenda down the other's throat" is a joke, right?<vbg>

This is the result of more and more decisions in this country being made by the Federal Government. This guarantees there will be one winner and one loser on every issue and why ever battle is being fought more and more intensely. By definition, the winners shove their idea down the throats everyone else in the country.

How much more wise is the way of the founders - a Federal government with strictly defined powers an X number of states were the bulk of the action occurs. If you loose in your state and can't stomach the result, there are X-1 places you can go and hopefully find more like-minded folk.

Intolerance is fairly prevalent on both sides. It would be nice to see "unity" described as honest dialogue, rather than one side shoving their agenda down the other's throat.
