Please. There is no basis for you to say your gain is bigger or smaller than mine. You haven't got the foggiest clue what my cost base was, my sale point etc.

I was being hypothetical, apples to apples: Addressing the fallacy in mindmelds "I took 200% while you took 6%" argument with ruthless logic. You start with $7 and hold, I'll start with $7 and not hold ... blah blah blah.

Not trying to get into a "my gain is bigger than your gain" comparison game. That is for immature males.

As to most of the people not making telephone calls? Yes. Indeed most of them wonder more about tonights meal than calling mom... who may not even survive to own a telephone number.

That's the real macro picture. By this token, rice or wheat or pennicillin would be a better investment than CSCO, don't you think?

Sure helps when you can throw a few numbers around to figure out whether rice or telephone calls or pennicillin is a better investment. There is so much that the people of the planet need!

I make a good living from people who purchase what I have at a price much higher than I would be willing to pay. That's the name of this game.

Figuring out why helps me understand how much longer the play can go on. Apparantly with the likes of CSCO, it could go on for a very long time!
