Banning her might be a bit harsh - I don't think she's really that likely to post here, especially now... - and I never thought of her as the LWP sort anyway.

The problem is that, IMO, she has become, at least on SI, more the symbol of other issues than the issue herself. It's perfectly possible to discuss her in a calm, intelligent, and dispassionate manner; it just hasn't been done here. But should she be blamed, or banned, because people can't behave themselves?

Those who want to battle over issues of faith and atheism will just find another target.

Better, IMO, that you ban any mention of religion or lack thereof. Then we're down to politics as the only subject of controversy, and that's, after all, sort of what we're here for anyhow.
