I don't think from the tone of your posts that you can stand the type of volatility that Cisco is experiencing.

that just shows how little you know me. i gambled very big on high tech stocks in 99 and 00. in 99, my portfolio for much of the year consisted of 100% calls, and i had regular fluctuations of 50% up and down every week. that is probably more volatility than you're used to, and certainly more than your image of me.

now i don't need to gamble. also, i don't like the risk/reward outlook for gambling on tech stocks at this juncture. is that so difficult to understand? if you don't need to gamble, that doesn't mean you don't invest. you just try to take calculated risks with an emphasis on capital preservation.
