we gave up a 2 story in la la land to avoid a commute (choice - 2 story with commute or single story w/ no commute). i think that is one of the best decisions i've ever made.

Good for you. I too have a hard time squaring the cost of 1 1/2 - 2 hours commute (each way) that some people are oh so ready to drive every day. At current white collar suburbanite pay rates, sych a commute would cost you anywhere between $60-200 a day in lost wages, before gas and car costs are included.

hj, we gave up a 2 story in la la land to avoid a commute (choice - 2 story with commute or single story w/ no commute). i think that is one of the best decisions i've ever made. i'd be certifiable now if i had to sit in traffic. my worst traffic nightmare is that the red lights take too long ;-)

Geezz...I have one traffic light between here and my nearest store. The entire drive takes 8 minutes. I like that a lot.
