Two pounds six shillings fourpence ha'penny. Easy(ish).
But we do use metric coins now... have done since I was old enough to buy anything, in fact. And I'm glad. Counting in 12's was only handy before the invention of the zero and the decimal ., IMO.

But if you paid those prices, pre-decimal... I'm afraid they really saw you coming... maths or math whiz, you were no trader!
