the bond market very firm in the face of the 10 yr note auction and the big WCOM issue.

The 10-year auction results shows strong demand for the small $9 bln reopening. The 5.189% auction rate was 0.9 bp below the 13 ET WI rate which argues that the Treasury was allowed to take a higher price for the issue as the strong 2.56 cover compares to 2.10 for the original issue in Feb and a 2.03 average over the last 12 10-year auctions. Noncomps demand was expectedly weak at $77 mln compared to $84 mln in Feb. Foreign and official accounts (FIMA) were absent as the Fed added on $2.5 bln for its account.
