14:53 ET Applied Micro (AMCC) 26.75 -1.59 (-5.6%): -- Update -- CSFB makes intraday comments; says AMCC's business is still poor and that no one in the group has visibility; expects company to hit the low-end of JunQ revenue guidance of about $70 mln (down from previous guidance of $70-$85 mln); views AMCC as best positioned company when market turns, but no one knows when that will be. 14:50 ET Rambus (RMBS) 13.81 +0.11 (+0.8%): Surge in volume over the past 5 minutes; hearing from traders Bloomberg is reporting that company lost Infineon (IFX) but was cleared of racketeering claims; Infineon awarded just $375,000. 14:45 ET Applied Micro (AMCC) 27.15 -1.19 (-4.2%): -- Update -- Talk on trading floors that Goldman Sachs is making negative comments on AMCC. Firm telling us that their stance remains cautious and that they did say there were no incremental positives out of NetWorld+ Interop; maintains Trading Buy rating.

Currently expect a rally into Fed meeting next week. I can't help but feel the Fed had done its job though as some stablity has returned to the market and the economy. Early indication are for no recession yet. As the Fed has always been reactive, I can't help but think the street will be dissapointed in the rate cut (ie ... not 1/2 percent).
