It's not a zero sum game. It's fed by the economy in the form of profits.

JMHO.

John,
Nice reply. I am not a technician and am particulary interested in our view about my point about a fake v shape recovery that peters out in 2002. I dont know what the future will bring and overall I am not as bearish as you seem to be. I figure demographics and an eventual good economy will take care of me but I can see this guys scenario playing out. Short term the market looks strong to me and i expect a breakout above 2200 on naz and 11k on the dow and 20 on cisco. I can see a top to this in the mid to higher 2000's in this go-round, maybe 30ish on cisco. I would love to see a second leg to hit his numbers. Somewhere there, unless I get stupid, i should exit. I am seeing the beginning of a mini-repeat of the 70's with higher unemployment than now, high energy prices, higher inflation than now and slower growth than most expect. But I do see an illusory V in the short term in the making and much boomer money on the side looking I guess to get even. mike
