You are spot on, Charles. According to China Daily he took time out from the Fortune Global Forum for a dedication. Question is was he part of Clinton's entourage or was Clinton part of his <grin>? No doubt they both schmoozed a bit with the Chinese president, Jiang. Do you think Mikey asked for our EP-3 back? Or will the new Dell ASC in Shanghai be tasked with reverse-engineering all the neat stuff they found onboard? Anyway here's an excerpt:

"Dell Computer Corp's Chairman and chief executive officer Michael Dell squeezed some time out of his Fortune Global Forum schedule yesterday to open the company's Application Solution Centre (ASC) in Shanghai.

Michael Dell dedicated the centre to helping Dell's Chinese customers prepare for the transition to future Dell servers and workstations and Intel Architectures. The China ASC is Dell's first in Asia. Dell opened a manufacturing facility in Xiamen in November 1998 to serve the Chinese market.

Dell's China operations have been recording more than 30 per cent quarterly growth since Dell began direct sales and they have already turned a profit.

According to a second-quarter ranking of computer-makers on the Chinese market by International Data Corporation, Dell rose from seventh to sixth place in terms of revenue and from ninth to seventh in terms of units shipped in China.

Michael Dell said that Dell China is set to become one of Dell's top 10 markets worldwide.

"Placement of the third ASC in China reflects Dell's continuing commitment to the Chinese market," said Michael Dell.

"We look forward to taking our relationships with Chinese customers to a new level by working with them to optimize their high-end solutions in this hands-on facility."

Dell will also host a banquet dinner for the presidents of China's State-owned enterprises in Shanghai Wednesday."
