Holding company Internet Capital Group rose after the company announced its results. Although ICG's pro forma net loss increased to $185 million from $35 million a year earlier, its strong financial position appealed to investors. The company has $264 million in cash, short-term investments and for-sale securities, and the market value of its publicly owned partner companies is about $320 million. Its 15 developed partner companies generated $61 million in first-quarter revenues. Shares rocketed 25 cents, or 8.01 percent, to $3.37 in after-hours trading
