It has been quite a day. The news you cited caused the market(semi equips) to burst exuberantly upon the scene at the open this morning, and then for the most part, for the semi-equips at least, it was all "down hill" from there.

From the article cited,

<Given the recent move off the bottom for equipment stocks, we believe the train has left the station and semiconductor capital equipment stocks have begun to trend into the next cycle,'' Deahna wrote in a research note to clients.>

As far as the semi equip group goes that I follow and periodically report on, the "train left the station" last 11/30/00, over 5 months ago. At that date the group closed at 567.14. Today, the group closed at 834.23 for a total gain since November of 47 percent. MS is just a little slow with their observation.<gg>
