Blue Zone has been chosen as a finalist in the 2nd-annual Canadian New Media Awards, to be held in Toronto on May 28th. Blue Zone is one of five finalists in the “Employer of the Year” category.

Selection as a CNMA finalist recognizes Blue Zone as one of Canada’s new media leaders. The awards showcase Canada’s new media talent and demonstrate Canada's leadership in new media innovation.

Sixty finalists in 12 categories were selected from more than 560 nominations received during February and March 2001. A selection committee comprised of 121 new media professionals from across the country collaborated online to select the finalists.

Winners will be announced at an award ceremony on May 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, Ontario. A reception will be held afterwards in the atrium of the Canadian Broadcasting Centre. Tickets to the reception can be purchased through Ticketmaster for $25 plus service charges ($15 for students).

Blue Zone is passionate about hiring top talent and providing employees with opportunities and rewards that foster a Canadian company recognized for new media excellence. Detailed profiles of all the finalists are available on the Canadian New Media Awards Web site, cnma.ca.

Launched in May 2000, the Canadian New Media Awards recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of Canadian individuals and companies in a total of 12 diverse categories. The award ceremony is designed to help promote the new media sector and provide inspiration for those just entering the industry. The awards are produced by Delvinia Inc. and presented in partnership with the Department of Canadian Heritage, Telefilm Canada, MultiMediator, globeandmail.com and CBC.ca. Gold sponsors include Mandrake, Sheridan College, the Ontario Media Development Corporation, City of Toronto, the Canadian Cable Television Association and MultiMediator PixelScout.
