As the downsized Economy recovers, expect inventory shortages to occur faster than planned.

Interesting points.
Assuming that the economy will recover, the smart companies that don't overdo the cuts in jobs and production may stand to benefit.

I guess a case can be made for the Sun Microsystem types of one week shut down instead of getting rid of employees now and hiring later..(training costs).

BTW--I am a bit bearish on Sunw (because of strenght in IBM and MSFT) but the strategy may make sense than simply firing people.
