Heatsinks suitable for the 1200MHz Palominos will probably be fine with the higher frequencies.

That's my favorite line (besides the SSE 2 part). It gives the impression that the chips don't generate nearly the heat that Thunderbirds do. Hopefully we'll find out more next week and on June 4th.

SSE and HWP have been pretty much in the bag in terms of expectations, but I would be totally, utterly shocked and surprised if the Athlon XP had support for double precision floating-point SIMD that is compatible with Intel's SSE2 instruction set.

If Athlon XP indeed did have SSE2 (and if it actually worked with SSE2 enabled programs), then I would utterly and completely forgive every single delay that the project has undergone.

That said, I'm not entirely (read: at all) convinced that this article is accurate.
