I can remember a builder selling starter homes in the 1950s for $10,400. These homes resembled upside down berry boxes. Today those homes sell between $80,000 and $100,000.

Your example underscores a fundamental precept in investing: Tomorrow's prices can vary tremendously. The trick is identifying the wheat from the chaff.

Currently, CSCO's cup is either half full or half empty. Bulls and bears seem evenly matched. Only one will prosper.

I'm optimistic about the future and CSCO's participation in better times ahead.
