Eric, the truth of the matter is that here in Europe we depend a lot on the US economy! There are people who don't like to here this, but we have been save over and over by the United States, in two world wars and plenty of crisis! Bosnia, and Kosovo are the latest episodes! We happen also to be foolish enough to think that EC is a counter balance to the US, that we are independent and should follow our own interest; we can steer our economy as we like and don't have to follow the US!!!! The Brits cut the rates when US did, and they will be cutting again, to stay in line with the US and Japan!
Dusenberg until last week will blabbling about inflation(!!!) and pretended that we have full growth within
EC! We have had slow down in Europe for over six months and he pretended not to see it! Then in the past two weeks he saw the latest numbers and got really scared. The ECB is learing that the we all depend on eachother! Better late than never!
