Zeev,

CNBC reported that JNPR held an analyst meeting & did not allow media to attend. CNBS reported that JNPR said earnings this year would be in the $1.60 range, but next year it would be in the $1.30 range...... CNBS could not confirm the info.... they also said there were other issues being thrown around.... inventory build up, etc...... again no confirmation.

I haven't seen any other news on this meeting though, but JNPR did fall fast after CNBS reported.

Zeev:
I having posted much recently but I echo your feelings that market may downturn again. I base it on the fact that corporate America is going on a major slowdown/shutdown of cap ex at least on tech spending since they have layoff 5-10% of their workforce so CPU's, servers, printers and even Cisco Routers are laying on the shelf gathering dust affecting current sales.
The reduction in tch spending is just starting to be felt IMO. I deal with a lot of small/medium sized businesses and they traditionally have an annual slowdown right now after personal/corporate tax payments. Normally things slow down for 2-4 weeks and then it's business as usual. The recent spat of job layoffs are accentuating this annual effect at least giving people a possible reason to curtail expenditures. I talked to more than one company were they stated that the phones have just stopped ringing for last two weeks.
I think that the on going perception that the economy is still slowing in 2nd Q will result in the effect of further belt tightening all around. I was particularly amazed that MSFT is pushing hard this week on making sure Windows XP debuts in Oct since Windows 2K and Windows ME never really got off the ground for real acceptance for corporate upgrades in 2000 & 2001. Most companies are still living with LAN's that were upgraded in 1999 to meet the Y2K phenomena.

Zeev,

You will have to take me off of ignore to get and read this message won't you? >>VBG<< I have been out most of the day trying to buy some real estate and this is the first I had heard of the news. Will look into it though. I think JNPR for the longer term is a very very good company and is one of the main reasons CSCO is having their problems. I have sold a number of the May, June, and July $50 naked puts on JNPR so I'm willing to buy it for $50 if that helps. I also own some of the common as well.

Keep an eye on the 11,000 mark on the DOW, for if it is taken out it will pull the NAZ with it. Until then the NAZ will be in limbo! Thanks for the post, for most pain in the rears usually do not receive post from people that have had the pain in their rears! >VBG< Again Zeev, you are good and I like your calls, but.......

Zeev,

CNBS is reporting that they were contacted by JNPR..... the info CNBS reported was erroneous.... they are maintaining their previous earnings guidance..... did not get the numbers, but per JNPR, they have not been changed since their last earnings CC.

At least CNBS was quick to make a correction.
