<<Gold is nothing more than an >>

No matter what it is, it deserves nothing less than accurate reporting. Gold or anything else.

No way to justify less.

You made some excellent points and it was a pleasure reading your argument, but in my opinion, a rising gold price does not necessarily mean the current financial system will be seriously damaged or destroyed, especially since it is so oversold at recent price levels. If anything, the rocketing gold prices of the late 1970's and early 1980's alerted the powers-that-be that serious steps had to be taken quickly to save the financial system before it went over the cliff, so gold will continue to serve an important role as a stabilizer or mine canary. Personally I would feel much better about our paper currency if it had some sort of gold backing behind it, and fail to see how that would erode my rights as a property owner..... As for poor nations finding the mother lode, more power to them, as any country on the face of this earth should have the right to prosper and survive from the bounty that nature has given them..... and I do not like the fact that certain relatively small countries have prospered greatly by using us as oil addicts, but then it is up to us to find energy alternatives to break our unnecessary dependence on them.
Free trade is fine with me as long as it is also fair trade. Yogi
