So far it appears that the agreement is strictly for the transfer of technology, which will enable AMD to use IBM's SOI process at Fab30, as well as IBM's engineering resources for the adaptation of Barton to SOI.

Where was it ever stated that IBM will allow AMD to use its
SOI process (transfer of technology) in Dresden? They always claimed in the past that the SOI process would remain in house (strictly a fab agreement). Also, if it's a strict fab agreement, AMD would use its engineering resources to adopt Barton to IBM's .13um SOI process (not the other way around) You keep implying that this is way more than just a fabbing agreement when it may very well not be.
