I consider this a most fluff PR. What they are saying is that CCBL is using Silicon based hybrid amplifiers, (as opposed to GaAs technology amplifiers, which are more expensive to make and purchase), to get better performance than what was previously available. This improved performance, from the system operator perspective, gives them almost GaAs performance w/o the cost factors.
