That's not all. Breastfeeding is a hell of a lot cheaper than formula, and requires no sterilization of bottles. It is also much safer: inadequately sterilized bottles or nipples, formula mixed with non-sterile water, formula mixed in inaccurate proportions, and improperly stored formula or expressed milk all pose real health risks to bottle-fed babies. These issues are particularly important among lower income groups.
