Hi Jim, there are probably several reasons why these stocks are hot right now, but in some cases, one of the reasons is MMs desire to unload excess inventory. The only way to do this is to take advantage of a price/volume spike. Unless you have done some insightful DD or are an MM, its very tough to know if this is the reason. So I basically assume all of these under .50 are running for this reason. Whether they are or not. I try to make some quick money off of the phenomenon and try not to hold them too long.
