I'm aware of the Nov 2002 cutoff date. IMO the spread is a function of the cost of carrying the position + whatever risk there is in being called in or the conversion not taking place by that date.

Plenty of smart guys out there, and they don't need to 'discover' anything about this deal. They know more than we do about it.

Here is situation with reasonable chance of success:mntx by cntl. Cash portion is 6.25 and stock portion is 4.25 worth of cntl. Financing has commitment. Stock portion has rather wide collar, not less than .1471 shares and not more than .2833 shares of cntl. Time frame is about September. I am in at 9.6 and will add below this level.
