I take what cheif has said about offsets to mean that one can predict when the ma will change. for example, over the next five days, clx.30 will give up the following numbers:

0,0,-8,-22,-11 and then mostly positive numbers. that means clx.30 will rise as it gets through these five numbers and then begin to fall starting on friday next week.

i have created the 10, 30 dma tab in the ss to help see what offsets will be worked off in the 10 and 30 dma of clx.

i don't know if this is correct but this is how i'm looking at the data at this time.....

The simple moving average is really a mini rate of change.

If you look back at the second differentials (the daily change in the SMA) you will see forward :)
