You and Tom C are both right. It was only $62 mil, but that was too much for an unproven prospect. Every sport has its strengths and weaknesses. The major weakness of the NBA is that they have started to pay young guys based on their potential, not on their production. MLB and the NFL had avoided that until now, but it looks like the NFL is getting dragged down. I will say this, though - getting Vick was a great public relations move in a city that doesn't have strong fan interest. And, he is a great athlete, so he might become a star. But, he might not.
