Gertsner states IBM is attacking the issue from a services centric model

the market appears to be implying that Dell is attacking the issue from a hardware centric model

nonetheless, Dell utilizes ITWO and SEBL no less than IBM in their large installation packages. Dell was one of the first players to contract with ITWO for software, business production environment improvements.

Dell contracts out much of their services work and they receive some revenue from it. despite all this IBM services talk, the services arena remains one of Dell's single largest manpower concentrations (relative to manpower growth)

Gertsner talks about wireless taking over. He's probably 100% correct.

But, improvements in wireless are coming at the hands of skilled engineers and improved hardware developments. Without these improvements there would be no "wireless services arena". just ask WFII. look at the market expectations for their stock.

Gilder was all over WFII in the $30s - the future was wireless "services" (little competition, according to him). one problem was that many of WFII service personnel were trained utilizing sub-standard based technology. that's changing, of course, but current market expectations for them haven't yet changed
