Assuming the host OS is I2O compliant (i.e. has an OSM) do you think it would be relatively easy or even possible to upgrade an existing sever with a NIC to one with an iNIC ?

It should be plug compatible or at worse needing a patch for the NOS. I believe the OSM has to be the latest version that properly addresses LAN classes.
