>>what do you like for Intermediate to Long Term growth in the cyclicals?

My view on investing would be to look at companies that are "old economy" infrastructure base businesses. I don't think will see another bull market until infrastructure issues are addressed. Rolling blackouts anyone? We will not see another bull until the words "rolling blackout" is erased from all of our memories.

I like railways, deregulation is happening, growth in trade between Canada, U.S. and Mexico is undeniable.

I like gold. I like it for different reasons, not the X-files/Turner Diaries/Anarchist Cookbook reasons I've seen displayed on SI. I like it because of the inevitable U.S. dollarisation of the North-American currencies. Peg the dollar to gold, there isn't a better way to ensure your neighbours that the whole economic policy of the western hemisphere is controlled by one guy.

I like ENERGY!!! -- That would include refineries, tar sands and natural gas.

I realise we are in a bear market, but what I can say is; we have low inflation, low interest rates, government surpluses and tax cuts. The sky isn't falling on our heads!
