DMA,

Clinton did the right thing with the deficit in 1993, while all of the Republicans ran away and hid. It was one of the bravest poitical acts I have witnessed, and it cost the Dems control of the Congress the next year. It also led to the surpluses we now enjoy.

Dear DMA: In my judgement CHARACTER is ALL that matters in the Presidency. You can hire aides to help you make the decisions but ONLY CHARACTER insures you make the right ones. Sadly, it seems a number of Americans do not share that believe or else are only interested in what THEY can get out of the system and not what they can contribute. While I was no John F. Kennedy fan, I did subscribe to his famous statement: "Ask not what your Country can do for you, but ask what YOU can do for your Country". Made sense then, makes sense now. jdn

DMA re:" doing the right thing was too hard for Mr. Clinton. "

Let me ask you point blank......would you have lied under the circumstances Clinton did, ie as Scumbria described? Assuming you're going to say no, tell us what in your character would have prevented you from trying to protect your ass and sparing your family and the nation the embarassment we had??
