His profile says he was born in 1965, so he was just a kid during the last painful recessions. It's all relative, I guess. The more you have, the more afraid you are of losing it.

It's a common belief. How many books about the coming world economic crisis are sold every year? Believers run the gamut from the Randy Weaver types out in Idaho to doctors in Beverly Hills, I guess.

My husband attributes it to oversimplification. Once you figure out that the government lies to us from time to time, it's easier to believe that it's all a lie than to try to separate truth from fiction.
