Too bad technology superior products do not always garner the market. The part from ADI looks state of the art and the fact that they beat others to market is good. However, as pointed out in the article this seems to be kind of a "if we build it they will come" product. Certainly, wavelet transforms have many uses. The magnitude to which they subplant other processing methods is unclear. Too early to tell if this part will be a good profit center for ADI.
FYI, I will be republishing an article from EETimes that shows that ADI went from #6 to #3 in the marketplace for analog componets last yr (TXN #1 , STMicro #2???). ADI was rated first in converters and some other catagory.
