"PPI was worse than expected, which suggests stagflation -- higher inflation with slower economic growth," said Gemma Wright, director of market strategy at investment bank Barclays Capital. "This underscores that there's increasing inflation on all fronts."

While that may not affect the Fed's thinking on cutting rates now, "down the road it's likely to make the Fed tighten more quickly, and shorten the neutrality cycle," Wright said.

I think the FED is between a rock and a hard place now.

Heinz, good points you make that there has been a bit more strength in some commodities than I suggested.
