Re: How to get better 'hourly' charts? ANSWER

I sent a similar message as my original to this forum to support@taltrade.com and I thought I would share the answer back with this group. So here it is:

----

In chart set up you want to put 65 minutes as the interval. Then check the box that says 'Start bars at Open' and 'exclude data after' and type in 16:00 for that if you want to only see the 6 bars. Some data is sent after 16:00 and so that is why you are seeing smaller bars that start at 16:00. It s up to you if you want to look at at some of the values that come in after 16:00. This should give you the 6 bars per day that you speak of. However, you will not have as many days back as you would if you used 60 minute bars because of the way the data is stored. TA_SRV only stores data in 5 different data bases. 1-min, 5-min, 15-min, 60-min, and daily. When you use a 65-min bar you are building it off of the 5 min data base because that is the largest data base that can go evenly into 65 and thus are limited to less data because we store less data for 5-min bars that 60. It s not perfect but that is why you see what you see.
