it's not silver -- silver is used as the container for high temp SCs -- but I think some kind of plastic will win

Vi & Tip, was referring to this reference mentioning silver & current use in superconductor wire (also mentions they're already working on a next generation that won't need it):

disclaimer: I just started looking at AMSC when I noticed a huge short squeeze started in it when we had that huge volume in gold & silver stocks wednesday.

I know we're in an energy crisis, thus the ;-) wink, and my interest in wire apparently 100 times more energy efficient.
