HJ: Liars, frauds and morons -- the new economy had them all. A few of them still know no shame and continue to share their new economy "wisdom" -- trying so hard to "rehabilitate" their own guru status. In the years I have followed this thread I have seen the most amazing bs -- not just a little baloney, but truly astonishing bs -- and all delivered in such deadpan style that I could only conclude one thing: Complete and utter stupidity was far more common than clever deceit and fraud. Such grandiose stupidity was the hallmark of more than one poster to be sure -- but one person really defined the genre as far as I am concerned was old "screaming buy Bill". He was always the guy so far from reality that weirdness in the market just served to convince him that he was the only one who really understood -- as in "I hear voices that tell me how to invest and you don't hear them so you don't get it but I am a genius and I am doing you a favor by dropping hints about which stocks to buy" and "you can never lose money if you continue to deny that it is happening, you must always "believe" and never think for yourself". Just keep listening to "the voices". But where are those voices now? They are keeping a low profile, hoping not to end up in jail. It is all so pathetic -- I can't believe anybody ever gave this guy the time of day. But he will be back -- who was it who said "there is a sucker born every minute"?
