PB, excuse a question from a very novice economist. I do believe that short shrift is given to the price of fuel vs capex spending cuts, interest rates, AG's mood etc.. My question is that do freemarket principles apply to the price of gas and oil in this country right now (not including OPEC's influence). If the economy slows down the price should certainly drop. Are there other major influences-the current administration perhaps, that are actively or passively influencing the price? I know it is a complicated issue, but I inquiring minds are curious....Also why the huge disparity in different areas of the country?
Thanks, Trip
