"Regarding scalping the market makers, I have neglected to exhaust the subject matter, so you are still wondering in the dessert?"

It's true -- I'm still wondering in the dessert. I can think of worse fetes, amusingly enough.

Thanks for the note, though, Arthur. I enjoy reading them. If you like, write more about how you detect a market maker's signature in a five-year chart. By a five-year chart, I take it you mean a daily chart with five years of data. Five-year price bars would certainly be a novel approach in unmasking the wily maneuvers of the market makers.

Regarding the market, take a look at the McClellan Summation Index. You might find it to be revealing.

One gets emotional and one loses money in the market?

Market works on greed and fear, so emotions has to be out of mind, if you do investments. Sorry about the sensitivity bit, in our character, it doesn't apply here. Reality is a 5 year chart. Market makers' character shows in the 5 year chart. GE has been going up for many many years, except for years of NBC and Kidde(r) Peabody problems. The 5 year chart reflects the specialist's handling of problems in the company and successes in that company. It is his signature, signing off in the price of GE stock over time, that he had to maintain. I will bet with him; and do business consulting on the side, to keep GE out of troubles.

Now (that) the news on GE gets better, and the price of GE stock is slowly moving up. Barring any unforeseen problem latently, the slow uptrend will retrace many years' past. Old charts are only good to check the specialist's character and signature, in tough times as well as pleasant times.

Hope this will give your mind the order you needed to properly access and evaluate various TA indicators and their relative importance.

Lets make some easy money here.
