CB:

Booze has never been of even modest interest to me. Couldn't afford it when I was a teen and couldn't see any redeeming value to it as I got older. Not that I am an intelligent allocator of resources as I spend far too many of my few disposable dollars on airplane parts. (g)

We passed the 1.0 million lay-offs announced in the U.S. this month (since Christmas) and if anything, it is a spreading phenomenon. It is for certain that the Fed's manic printing can hold the collapse at bay for a while yet, but my indicators suggest its efforts are having much less impact (so far at least) than one might have expected with such a geyser of paper. The bond market is starting to speak up as well. We shall see.

Best, Earlie
