I know there are ways of programming the Intellimouse that gives it some advantages (like, you can store up to a dozen items for pasting instead of having to do them one at a time), but I never learned to do that and am not sure if that's better than not having a clunky mouse that drags across the pad. What do you think?

Do whatever you find most comfortable. That's what it's all about. :-)
